My very quiet, 80-square-meter apartment is in the 2nd interior courtyard of a building about 10 minutes walk from the Volkstheater and the Art History Museum. A few steps away are also the Theater der Jugend and the Cosmos Theatre on Siebensterngasse. Due to the lack of space, the Neubaugasse is not a typical shopping street with large chain stores, but is instead filled with small local shops and restaurants. A mix of traditional businesses and young start-ups is characteristic of the area. It’s very popular in creative circles in Vienna and is filled with delightful bars, bistros, and boutiques.
The district is adjacent to the old town and is thus an extension of the city center. There are plenty of cultural attractions such as the MQ (Museumsquartier), a highly popular hangout with a broad array of museums and cultural opportunities. The 7th district is the heart of Vienna’s creative scene. Not only do many musicians and actors live here, but numerous magazines, fashion designers, advertising agencies, and architects have also chosen the district as their base. The Biedermeier architecture of Spittelberg is a landmark in itself – and a great place to relax your soul and tarry in a coffeehouse.

I love the theater, a passion that’s expressed in my private living space. I adore collecting souvenirs of past performances and treasure remembrances of historical works. I am a big fan of small details, and I think this is where the soul of something is truly revealed. My apartment wanders a fine line between on-stage and backstage, fostering an inspiring environment for a vacation, a retreat, a creative process, or just to relax and let your head air out.
The Volkstheater traditionally shows exciting contemporary theatrical productions, and the ornate Rote Bar upstairs on the first floor is always good for a nighttime excursion.

The Jenseits was once a red light bar, but today a widely mix of people can be found here. Many of my DJ friends can regularly be found spinning music in the plush and cozy atmosphere.
Open Tuesday to Saturday after 9 pm.
The seventh district and everybody who hangs out there meets at the Café Europa. To many (including myself) it’s a second home.
www.europa-lager.atThe Spittelberg itself is a sight worth seeing, and the Lux is a tiny culinary oasis with a charming covered inner courtyard. During the winter holiday season, the entire cobblestoned street is brought to life by a Christmas market and the cheerful camaraderie of wine punch.

A treasure trove of theatrical history! But watch out – browsing through these original props, signed autograph cards, stage photos, and much more certainly does eat up time!
Ich bin großer Fan von Sacha Lakic. Seine Stücke und die von anderen exzellenten Designern finde ich hier.
www.roche-bobois.comThe Schilling is an excellent Viennese restaurant that lets you concentrate on what’s important – namely, on good food.
If you’ve had enough of schnitzel, it’s time to try out this excellent Thai cuisine. The Bangkok is located in a former “Wiener Beisl” (traditional Viennese bar/restaurant), its atmosphere an interesting mix of Asian and Austrian flair.
